NATURAL VINEGAR PLANT IN BANGALORE IS OPERATIONAL
Ecovinal
SL, a European Company, has three natural alcohol vinegar plants,
in Spain, Chile and India. The combined output of these three plants
is around 40 million litres per annum. Ecovinal's customers are leading
US and European firms. Ecovinal SL is also a supplier of vinegar to
the Indian gherkin industry.

SL has now entered into a joint venture in India for the production
of natural white vinegar. This plant has been put up at a cost
of over US$ 1.5 million. The state-of-the-art plant has been
built with new equipment incorporating latest technologies,
and is on par with plants in Europe. The Indian factory, run
by European expatriates, has an annual capacity of 10 million
litres. The plant commenced commercial production in March 2000.

Analyses of our product by Indian, European and American buyers have
shown that our product exceeds specifications set by European and
American manufacturers. This is mainly on account of the better quality
alcohol feedstock available in India. The Indian plant uses sugarcane
molasses alcohol as the raw material.
Our
product has been approved by all major European, US, and Canadian
gherkin buyers. We have been certified as KOSHER by the Orthodox Union,
USA. In India, we have been approved by a major MNC food company,
besides all the gherkin producers.
Other
food processing industries can also use our vinegar instead of using
synthetic acetic acid. Our vinegar can also be successfully marketed
as a retail product for domestic use instead of synthetic vinegar.
As you are aware, synthetic vinegar is banned in many EC countries
and North America and it will soon have an impact in our country too.
